How Contract Recruitment Saves Time and Money in the Staffing Process

Thank you for your consideration. In response to any questions as to how my contract services operate to locate qualified talent quickly and cost-effectively, I have put together a brief explanation.

To put into the simplest terms exactly what I do that saves clients expenditure in hiring is this: I come on board a staffing assignment, and work on-site or off, for whatever period is deemed necessary, to source, recruit and bring on board qualified talent. My sourcing methods involve networking within an industry to locate candidates, directly going to competitors to recruit and using the web and numerous other resources to accomplish my client’s staffing objectives.

By working on an hourly basis, I have historically been able to recruit talent at a cost saving of anywhere from 40 to 60% compared to the use of an agency. If an agency, for example, charges a commission of somewhere between 15 and 25% of a candidate’s annual salary of, say 100K, the cost to the client for hiring that candidate is going to be between 15K and 25K. Using my services to recruit the same type of candidate usually takes between 80 and 120 hours on average. At a rate of $75.00 per hour, this amounts to between $6,000.00 and $9,000.00, plus a small amount for telephone and possible web expenses. In many cases, however, the amount of time and money required for me to locate and bring on board a qualified candidate is much less than the figures provided, often half the sums stated, this usually occurring in situations where there are multiple similar openings to be filled. The difference between the costs of using my services versus the expense of an agency becomes considerable; especially when hiring more than a few candidates, as the example shows, and that is why increasingly companies have been using contract recruiters to meet their staffing needs. My services are often dedicated to serving the needs of one client at a time and my efforts are under continuous monitoring by the client for results, as I have to perform cost-effectively in order to be kept on assignment.

Sincerely yours,
Frederick R. Singer
